This kit lets you mount 13" vented rotors and modern Chevy rear calipers from on your Ford 9" "Old Big Bearing" 9" solid axle with 5 on 5.5" lug pattern. This beefy axle came stock on many old Fords. In truck applications it only came with weak drum brakes and a questionable parking brake, not to mention that the brakes are 20-30+ years old and could probably use a refresh, so why not upgrade? Get tons of braking force and a rock solid parking brake, while being able to service and buy parts at any auto parts store.

The advantage of the electric parking brake is obvious if you have ever adapted a mechanical one before- It is much easier to route electrical wires than adapt heavy pull cables, and make sure leverage ratios work together. And the holding power of the electric calipers is superb, extremely reliable, and easy to operate. There is a reason most modern vehicles now use them.

The mount has 3 sets of mounting holes to allow you to clock the caliper +- 30 degrees.

  • Calipers from one of the following
    • 19-24 Chevrolet Blazer
    • 17-23 GMC Acadia
    • 18-23 Chevrolet Traverse
    • 17-25 Cadillac XT5
    • 20-25 Cadillac XT6 
  • 2004 Ford E-150 5x5.5 Rear Rotors
  • 16g wire and loom

 

Fitment Notes:

  • Will it fit my axle?: 
  • Check the mounting flange on the axle housing- it needs to be a 3.5" x 2.375" bolt pattern with 1/2" bolt holes. * Measure the brake mounting flange to hub face- it should be 2.36"
  • The mount has 3 sets of mounting holes to allow you to clock the caliper +- 30 degrees. 
  • You may reuse your existing brake hoses with some modification or get matching hoses with your new calipers.
  • This kit will fit most 17”+ wheels depending on wheel design and backspacing.
