Tech and innovation is growing exponentially in modern vehicles. With massive touch screens, hundreds of sensors, driver aids, and more, the modern vehicle is closer to a spaceship than ever before. That being said, there are some things that should and perhaps should not be modernized. In this instance, we at Range Industries decided to tackle one of every mechanic, restoration tech, or DIY builder’s least favorite piece of ancient technology and modernize it for a handful of applications; thus was born the Range Industries Electronic Parking Brake Conversion Kits.

Q: What is an Electronic Parking Brake?
A: Well, historically, parking brakes were a ‘Rube Goldberg Contraption’ of springs, cables, and levers that were not only prone to wear and tear but also complicated to install and maintain. The Electronic Parking Brake is an integrated electronic system that simply works in conjunction with a caliper (AKA no Rube Goldberg components). Essentially, power is sent from a switch to your caliper and tells your brake caliper to squeeze the rotor so the vehicle doesn't move (yes, that is the simplest explanation).

Q: Why would I need an Electric Parking Brake?
A: The majority of modern vehicles are using electronic parking brakes for one reason: Simplicity and safety. This can benefit you because it costs less to maintain, it’s generally a stronger clamping force, it’s easier to install, and it's now easier and more affordable than ever to convert. Furthermore, for the DIY builders and fabricators who have swapped axles or subframes, our kits are a must-have for retaining a functional parking brake!

Q: Are Electronic Parking Brake Kits safe?
A: Range Industries Electronic Parking Brake Kits utilize OEM calipers, lines, and rotors to ensure that your vehicle will operate in the same function as from the factory! Our brackets and mounting hardware are USA-made and constructed from corrosion-resistant, high-strength materials! The Range Industries Electric Parking Brake Kits are designed for a lifetime of use, just as your standard vehicle equipment was!

Q: Are Electronic Parking Brake Kits hard to install?
A: Range Industries Electronic Parking Brake Kits are a bolt-on installation and do not require any drilling, welding, or fabrication! Simply bolt on our brackets, compatible calipers and rotors, and run two wires to the provided switch! The Range Industries Electronic Parking Brake Kits are the simplest parking brake kits on the market!
